When “Wait” is the Answer

As believers we often hear that we should trust God’s timing. It always sounds like such an easy thing to do. But when life doesn’t go as planned, that trust in God can surely be tested. We face moments of uncertainty and find ourselves asking, “Why, God?” “Why is this season of waiting so long?” It’s natural to want answers, but sometimes, God asks us to lean in, let go of our plans, and surrender control to Him. Even though it doesn’t always feel easy or comfortable, trusting the Father’s timing is crucial and how letting go can lead to a deeper, more fulfilling relationship with Him. Let today’s message encourage you if you’ve found yourself in a season where “wait” has been God’s answer.

His Timing Over Yours

When we plan things, we often focus on the things that give us immediate  results. On the things that we want now and how we think things should happen. But we must all understand that God’s timing operates on His calendar, not ours. He sees the big picture and the connections we can’t see. He alone is well aware of each and every moment in our lives that prepare us for the next. Trusting His timing takes a lot of perspective. It’s about realizing that delays aren’t denials and that waiting is often part of the process. Let’s think about how David was anointed as king but waited years to step into that title. That waiting period prepared him, shaped his character, and required him to depend on God in a deeper way. In our own lives, those times of waiting teach patience and faith. When we embrace the season we’re in, we can position ourselves for the very blessings that God has prepared!

Embrace the Season

Do you know what season you’re in??

Every season in your life has a purpose. You may be in a season of growing, stretching, or even one of healing. Sometimes, you can become  so focused on getting to the “next” thing that you miss what God is doing in the “now.” But God’s timing often requires that you stay in the moment and grow right where we are. In Ecclesiastes 3, the Word tells us that there is a time for everything. Even when waiting might feel like standing still, it’s where God does His greatest work! The Lord molds us, teaches us, and grows our faith in those times. Instead of pushing against the season, I encourage you to ask: “What are You teaching me, Lord?” By focusing on what God is revealing, you can move your mind from frustration to a place of gratitude. Know the season that you’re in and seek His face while you wait.

Let Go of Control

Let’s be honest…

One of the hardest parts of trusting God’s timing is letting go of control. We want things to go our way because it feels safer, but control can become a burden. When you surrender your need for control, you allow God to move mightily in your life! Think of Proverbs 3:5-6, as believers we’re called to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. This scripture doesn’t promise us an easy path, but it does promise that God will be there to guide us. Letting go of control allows you to experience the peace that surpasses all understanding. It’s about knowing that God is working everything together for your good…because He surely is! It’s time for you to surrender in this season and make room for Him to write a story far better than you could imagine!

Encouragement for the Journey

Waiting is not easy and trusting in God’s timing doesn’t always mean you’ll  understand His reasons. But be encouraged of this:

God sees every tear…

He hears every prayer…

He knows every hope that you’ve tucked away in your heart.

He’s working, even when you can’t see it!

He is faithful, even when His answer is “wait”.

Don’t get discouraged. Instead, encourage yourself with His promises. Reflect on Isaiah 40:31, because it tells us those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. Stand firm and hold onto your hope in this season! Trust that in time, God’s plan will be revealed! Surrendering control isn’t a one-time thing…it’s a DAILY choice to make. Trust in His timing, knowing that our Father is faithful!

Release your grip on what you think is best and allow God to take the lead! Embrace the season you’re in. He is preparing you for the next! Lean into His promises and take heart in knowing that while you wait, He is working!

Amen.
