Teaching on the Types of Prayer!

I did a teaching a few weeks ago on my prayer call. If you missed this teaching I’ve decided to bring it to you via email. Today we will learn about the prayer of INTERCESSION and the prayer of FAITH.

I would NOT be the woman I am today had it not been for prayer.

As a woman who has found my calling through prayer, has birthed a ministry out of prayer and has been praying publicly for years, I have always been led by the Spirit to pray. It has become a lifestyle and a vital weapon in my personal walk with the Lord. Recently as God impressed upon me the power of prayer, I felt led to share a word of knowledge and scriptures that correlates to prayer. I’d like to share with you today some teaching and spiritual training on some of the most powerful types of prayer. Though there are many types, learning the basics of the few in which I will mention will provide you with the wisdom and knowledge to build and strengthen your prayer life!

Prayer of Intercession

Intercession – to intercede; to intervene between parties with a view to reconcile differences; to make a petition for

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” – Ephesians 6:18

From a spiritual standpoint, intercession enables you to stand as the mediator between God and someone else through prayer. When this type of prayer is applied, it is always in regards to standing in the gap on the behalf of someone else. Most of our prayers as believers can be placed into the category of intercession as things aren’t always about us personally.

God is looking for someone who is willing to stand in the gap!

“I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.” – Ezekiel 22:30

God is always looking, seeking, and searching the land to see who can He raise up as an intercessor; to see who is willing to open their mouths to selflessly pray for others. Intercession is a type of prayer in which God uses His people as vessels under the direction of the Holy Spirit so that prayers can be released into heaven. It is so powerful because it is the most selfless type of prayer. When you can turn off your own distractions and stop what you are doing for someone else – it makes a difference! God will honor your selflessness and reward you for standing in the gap for your sisters and brothers in Christ.

Even so, sometimes as believers, we intercede on behalf of others while negating ourselves. Though the majority of the time as a believer you will be led to intervene for others, this doesn’t mean that you should neglect your own personal prayer life! Remember that you cannot give from an empty cup; you must pray for yourself just as much as you pray for others.

More Scriptures on Intercession

“But now, if you will forgive their sin—but if not, please blot me out of your book that you have written.” – Exodus 32:32

“So Moses cried out to the Lord, “Please, God, heal her!” – Numbers 12:13

(We are shown in the Bible through Moses the power of interceding for others. He was willing to stand in the gap for God’s people and plead for their salvation, free them from sin, and even petition for healing.)

“As you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.” – 2 Corinthians 1:11

“For I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.” – Philippians 1:19 –

Prayer of Faith

The kingdom moves by faith! Things in the kingdom are predicated upon faith and obedience as they both move the hand of God.

“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.” – James 5:13-15

It is the prayer of faith that brings forth healing, deliverance, and extends into the realm of miracles. All throughout the history of the Bible, God’s people have used the power of faith-filled prayer to cause the miraculous to occur. Isn’t that beautiful?

“When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” – Mark 2:5

Because of the level of great faith between those four men, Jesus was empowered to heal a man who had been paralyzed. They were so adamant in their desires and faith that they tore the roof off of the building just to get to Jesus!

We all may be familiar with the story of the woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. Through faith, she pressed into Jesus and touched the hem of his garment, instantly receiving freedom from her suffering!

“Jesus said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” – Mark 5:34

You have the ability to move mountains through your prayers of faith! If your faith has been a little shaky lately and you have been struggling to believe God, remember that all it takes is faith the size of a mustard seed! Let your faith on the inside of you begin to grow and expand and you will surely begin to believe God again!

Believe Him on new levels!

Believe Him for new results!

Believe Him for new testimonies!

Believe Him for new supernatural experiences!
