Like never before, the Word of God is SO needed in the lives of believers! Though today’s quick message of encouragement is one that may be familiar, the Lord desires to remind us all that the Word STILL works!
The other day, I found myself in an intense mode of prayer. I contended as I entered the spirit realm, pulling some things down, decreeing, and employing the holy angels to be sent on assignment. During prayer, I could sense the intense warfare. Many of us may have gotten to a place where it seems as though things are caving in this season. Even as believers, we reach a point when we get tripped up, losing confidence in finding the right words to say in prayer. At times, we simply just don’t want to say the wrong things unto the Father. It doesn’t matter how anointed, gifted, or seasoned you are in your walk with the Lord –we’ve all been there! But even in times when you feel as if you don’t know what to pray, be encouraged to press in and stand on the Word. It STILL works!
It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve had to stand on the Word…
It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve lifted a certain passage of scripture before the Father…
It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve uttered it out of your mouth…
Continue to apply the Word of the Lord over your life because it will never lose its power!
The Word is Powerful!
“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” – Hebrews 4:12
Everything that we need is found in the Word! It is like a two-edged sword that pierces and cuts things away in the soulish realm (which consists of the mind, will, and emotions). The Word goes out into the atmosphere to penetrate some things. It combats wickedness, evil principalities, powers and rulers of darkness, and pulls down strongholds that may be rising against you! The Word is even strong enough to keep you in a place of avoiding sin. It is our ultimate guide and source of comfort, healing, and deliverance. If it’s healing that you are in need of, I encourage you to find you some scriptures to decree and declare. Personally, one of the scriptures that I’ve often found myself standing on is Isaiah 35:5: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” The Word tells us that the angels of the Lord hearken unto the Word of God, (Psalm 103:20). In other words, they listen for the Word that is released into the atmosphere!
So as you are praying:
Stand on the Word!
Quote the Word!
Speak the Word!
Live the Word!
Pray the Word!
Send the Word!
Sing the Word!
Worship with the Word!
Jesus IS The Word!
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” – John 1:1
Jesus himself IS the Word! Wrap yourself in the Word of the Lord. Wrap yourself in Jesus! Be reminded that every time you speak the Word out of your mouth, it’s the essence of Jesus himself coming forth! The Holy name above ALL names! The Bible even tells us that in the mention of his name every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that he is truly Lord. He IS the Word!
As I dealt with some personal issues a few months ago, I recall a vision that I received of Jesus! It was as if he were walking quickly, dressed in all white with fire flashing all around him! Before this, I had never pictured him as such, a flaming fire. With this vision, the Spirit of the Lord encouraged me saying, “Just speak daughter! The fire of God will begin to come in and burn what you are contending with and going through!”.
Press Into the Word
The Word works and God wants us to be reminded of this very fact! There are times when even as seasoned saints and believers we throw our hands up as if we don’t know what to do. The Father simply desires to remind us all that everything we need is found in His precious Word. Every scripture, every answer, every promise is found in the Word!
If you are in need of a specific scripture so that the deliverance and protection of the Lord will prevail on every end, then I encourage you to stand on Psalm 91. The entire passage and chapter is filled with promises that you can begin to decree and declare over your life. The Word still works!
“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” – 91:14-16
We need the Father! We NEED His Word! While many are seeking man, we should be seeking and pressing into the Word! Though things may be coming against you in this season with trouble, calamity and attacks on every end, press into the Word!
There have been many times when I have had to lean on the Word, even when I felt as if I couldn’t. I’d find myself quoting the Word during times when I couldn’t muster the strength to pray. Though I didn’t always feel like it, couldn’t find the words to say, or simply didn’t want to, I pressed into the Word!
Could you imagine where you’d be without the Word of the Lord? How precious it is that Jesus –the ultimate Word – came in the flesh and died for each and every one of us! Let us reverence the Father today! May you fall in love even more with the Word in this season. May you step into greater depths and allow it to penetrate your very spirit –because SURELY His Word still works!
Amen!
