Protect Your Seed At All Costs!

“A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”

– Mark 4:3-8

When we consider the Kingdom of God and how it operates, the parable of the sower is one that we all can learn from and apply. Even as many of us may have heard it ministered many times before, there’s surely more meaning and depth to the message. When reading the scripture, I pondered on all of the ways that I could title the message. But I could sense the Father saying: “protect your seed and your word at all cost, because it will spring forth and yield life!” Today’s message is quite simple yet profound: Protect your seed! Protect your word!

What is Your Spiritual Seed?

What Word is it that you know the Spirit of the Lord has given you? What about the prophetic words, dreams, and visions that you know came from Heaven? What Word have you been told to stand on? Have there been times when the Lord even gave you a scripture in the middle of the night? Or perhaps a moment that He gave you a particular Word as you were coming out of fasting and prayer. Those are seeds from the Lord that must be protected at all times!

Personally, there’s been times in my walk with the Lord when I’d feel a nudge from the Holy Spirit to protect the anointing that is upon my life –because it has surely come with a cost. Oftentimes as believers, we don’t do enough to protect our seeds. We tend to avoid allowing things to grow deep and take root on the inside of us. As we learned in the parable, be sure not to sow your seed without any depth! Much like a newborn child, we must nurture and protect that which God has given us.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.” – John 10:10

It is the enemy’s job and duty to come and steal your seed and the Word that God has given you. Don’t you know that when God places an idea and dream on the inside of you, when it’s time for you to elevate to a new level, realm, and new mantle, these are seeds from Heaven? The enemy will certainly send all kinds of distractions your way. Don’t you dare let the enemy come and steal the Word! Don’t let him come and snatch the seed that God has given you! Be encouraged that though the enemy comes to steal, God comes so that you may have life more abundantly!

Where have you been sowing your seeds?

According to the scripture, are they…

  1. Unprotected and scattered along the path?
  2. Planted in rocky places with no soil or root?
  3. Among thorns that choke your seed?
  4. Rooted in good ground that multiplies?

There’s a scripture that says “delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart”, (Psalm 37:4). There are many desires from the Lord that are placed within us all. But are we really protecting those things that Heaven has given and granted us? Are we protecting and guarding those seeds?

I’m sure we all have been guilty of hearing a Word, getting excited about it, yet eventually letting things fall by the wayside. We don’t allow those very seeds to take root, grow, and produce fruit. You must realize that the God you serve is a God of production and fruit! When He spoke out of His mouth and declared “let there be”, so there was! In this same way, things will grow as you purpose in your heart to operate as your Father does. Even if it is the size of a mustard seed, be encouraged and have faith that it will grow and produce!

What are you allowing God to produce in your life?

Are you allowing the seeds that you’ve received to produce? What about the downloads that you’ve received in prayer? Are you allowing God to work those things out on the inside of you? There must be some depth on the inside of you, so that there may be fruit and glory produced from your process. Will you allow God to take you through the process of endurance? Will you allow Him to truly deal with you in this season? Remember that you must protect your seed. Even during the times when you don’t see the fruit from it, you must have faith in the deposit that was made. There have been times when I was instructed by the Lord to remain quiet; all of a sudden things would begin to spring up and people would be shocked wondering where it all came from! That’s what happens when you allow God to process your seed –even as it is underneath the ground and the soil! Refrain from being angry in the process. Allow the Lord to process your seed!

“But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.” – Mark 4:17-19

Sowing on Good Ground

When it comes to the principle of sowing, we must examine our own selves and our own walk. If someone sends a seed your way, is it on good ground? Will it spring forth life? Will it produce good fruit? If you have friends who may be intercessors or prayer warriors over your life, are you able to give back to them? It is my prayer that we all learn to cultivate good soil in the Kingdom! Where God is able to reveal His secrets and mysteries and release prophetic words given. Giving you names in the middle of the night as He trusts you to pray for them, and believe in Heaven enough to stand in the gap. Make no mistakes about it, this principle goes so many ways other than just finances, prosperity, and abundance. It’s all about having a good ground!

What are you sowing?

How are you receiving?

Are you really trusting God?

Are you standing on His Word?

How are you protecting your seed?

Sometimes, your seed may seem so small that you don’t have any idea how beautiful and marvelous it was intended to grow! The Lord’s Grace will help you protect a seed that you don’t even know was there! Protect your harvest! As believers, we often don’t protect what is pure, what is right, and holy. We’re told in the Word to be careful of casting our pearls before swine, (Matthew 7:6). Even still, we often give away our precious oil to those who are not willing to receive it. You’ve got to protect your seed! Remember this: What you don’t embrace, you don’t respect; and you will eventually push it away!

Receive the blueprints of Heaven and everything that God has for you! There’s some seeds in your ground!

There are some beautiful treasures and gems that the Father has deposited on the inside of you. Take care of them and operate in a spirit of excellence, even when you are going through trials. Even in the face of distractions, cares of the world, life, and even in death! May you protect your seed by monitoring what comes around your eye gates and enters into your ear gates. Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand. Jesus was our perfect example, showing us just what to do even as God dealt with Him and the enemy tried to steal his seeds and his word. He knew what was already written! So whenever the enemy tries to attack your life, pick up your Word. Begin to stand on it, quote it, pray it, and hide yourself in the Word!

What seeds have you dropped along the way? May you gather them up again in this season! May there be a restoration in the areas where you have allowed seeds to fall to the ground. Don’t let your seed be choked and wither away! Be encouraged that there will be a recovery of the seed that He has released from Heaven into your bosom and in your midst!

Receive even more!

Embrace even more!

Expect even more!

There is work to be done!

May your seeds that you have in the ground bring forth and produce a harvest beyond your wildest dreams!

And it is so! Amen.
