Who’s In Your Circle??

… Can I take a moment to be honest with you?

After experiencing one of the most gut-wrenching attacks in my life this past July, I’ve had a transparent moment that opened my eyes to the importance of the people who are connected to your life. After going through this attack, it showed me just how much I truly needed the people in my life. Even as I have been the one who has gotten on a prayer call to pray for others for 14 years, prophesying, encouraging and strengthening others. I still needed someone to hold my hand in my own personal moments. One of those people happened to be my spiritual mentor who has helped me navigate so much in this season of my life. I recall being so very grateful for the relationships and people that I could pick up the phone and call, who would stop whatever they were doing and pray for me. I’m grateful for those who didn’t hesitate to go to war on my behalf with no questions asked!

You must always remember that whatever you sow, you will eventually reap.

There will be a time when all of the prayers that you put out for others…

the love that you’ve shown individuals…

the things that you have released to people…

the times when you turned down your plate for people…

In this same way, the Lord will send individuals who will do the same for you. There will be people who will lift up your arms, turn down some plates, and pray for you!

Examine Your Relationships

I encourage you to examine the people who are in your circle. Take some time to look at your relationships and friendships. It takes much transparency and reflection to ask yourself questions such as these:

Who is in your space?

What leaders in your life are you serving?

Who are you allowing to pour into you?

How can you be better?

What kind of conversations are you having with the people that you are connected with?

Are your connections Kingdom-minded, Kingdom-focused, with a Kingdom agenda?

How is your relationship with God?

What is the last time God told you to do something and you didn’t do it?

When was the last time when God told you to move?

Who holds you accountable?

How can you pray for others?

What are you leaving for your legacy?

It’s time to examine your relationships. You need some prayer warriors in your camp. Who can you lean on when you need to be sharpened and when your sword gets dull?

“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” – Proverbs 27:17

“Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.” – Ecclesiastes 4.9-1

God is doing a work in this season, and we all can go higher together! You must understand that it’s not going to take away from you if you support others. It doesn’t take away the anointing that’s on your life. God doesn’t take away what He has given you if you choose to honor the giftings and anointings in others. We all need each other!

It takes great humility to be broken in front of a person and expose your own flaws. It’s such a blessing to be connected with people who have the capacity to respect both your anointing and your brokenness. Who are the people in your life who can handle the mantle on your life without disrespecting it? Accessing your relationships is so important in this hour! It is said that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with. The same holds true even in the spirit.

We must be real with ourselves!

Remember that “no” is an anointed word! If you find yourself drained, agitated, frustrated, fatigued by the time you are off the phone with a person, then it is time to access your connection. More than likely, it is time to cut things off. Remain led by the Lord. The truth is, these things will often hold you back from your destiny and the very promises of God.

Petition Your Connections

Write a petition concerning your close relationships and connections. Be sure to specifically ask God to send people in your life who are great for you and that you can also be great for. You may also need to ask Him to highlight those who it may be time to disconnect from. If you were to be honest with yourself, you may already know who they are. Get out a piece of paper and address it to the Lord. Be sure to first come to Him with statements of thanksgiving and praise; then proceed with your petition. Write it out, place a date on it, put it in your prayer box, and give it all to the Lord.

“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” – Proverbs 18:24

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” – Ephesians 4:2,3

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Conclusion

God is moving heavily in the area of relationships in this season. We are in a time where there is a lot of transition, shifting, and changing taking place. I encourage you to take before the Lord the people who are in your space and seek God for the answers. Even the relationships that you may have casted away but God wasn’t finished with. Consider the things that you may have brought to your relationships because you were hurt, offended, and walking in a place of unforgiveness and even bitterness. For the connections in which God has called together, may He bring reconciliation and restoration. The Lord moves throughout the Earth by way of human relationships and connections. With this in mind, we must learn how to handle and respect the people in our lives.

May the Lord fill up your cup and touch you, helping you to respect those who are connected to you. May you begin to see who they are, discern the gifts, undergird them, intercede for them, and pick them up in the spirit realm. May you continue to trust in the Lord with all of your heart. As His loving light shines beneath your feet, He will order your path and direct your every step. May your feet be set ablaze as you walk in the right path. May you become a good steward of the divine connections that God has already released and desires to release as you walk out your destiny and calling according to His purpose!

Amen.
